Ego is what we tend to listen to, to build up all the negative thoughts we have building in our minds. All these funny thoughts are all a result of the ego.
In Spirit Junkie, Gabrielle Bernstein's first step to identify this ego is : Close your eyes and think of all these harmful thoughts that come into your mind.
For example : When I close my eyes I hear myself say
- I am sad as the man of my dreams isn't anywhere to be seen. I am going to die single.
Change this thought to say : This is not true as it was not created with love. The universe is going to bring my soulmate in divine timing, I know its here and I have faith and completely trust the universe. I am going to enjoy myself till its time.
Whatever the negative thought - Simply say to it - This is not true as it was not created with love.
We are all human and there is no way we can stop negative thoughts coming our your minds. The catch is how you deal with it. Always try to have a conversation with your inner self when this happens. And when there is something negative that you cannot take out of your mind - then do something physical - go for a walk, go to the gym, dance on your favorite song - whatever it is that you can do - do it - this will help with this thought process.
